Not to mention the stacks of boxes.

Why do I feel so guilty for neglecting my blog for a mere two weeks? What strange power is contained in this page?

........

I’ve been a little swamped, as you can probably imagine.

Dan and I were in Arkansas two weekends ago. We traveled to visit his college friends with whom he is still close. Now that I’ve been there and seen him with them, I don’t know how we put it off for so long. They are wonderful, kind people with arms full of babies.

I had never been to the South. It was a treat! My roots are down there—Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas—so the food and sweet tea was familiar. My favorite part was seeing the forests full of deciduous trees. My least favorite part was the tick that stowed away under my shirt (thanks for that reminder, Leisha).

Wedding planning is going well. Our “To Do” list is shrinking, but there are still some major things on the horizon. The big day is going to be fun, and being married to Dan will be even better. If you haven’t RSVP’d, get to it!

My siblings and little nephew were in town for Mother’s Day, and Bethany threw me a lovely bridal shower on Saturday to boot. I always feel extremely awkward in those situations (it’s easier to throw a party than to have it thrown for me), but I also felt incredibly, wonderfully loved.

........

More to come.
